Hmm, good idea. The DW is the toilet freak but I do suppose the under the rim is a good idea. I did a complete cleaning job several months ago including wiping down walls and it did help but only for a short time. Maybe I need to find a tree or tire.

I have seen other threads about the air admittance valve and gray tank odors. Mine has a split bath and AFAIK there is no AAV for the sink or it is behind the cabinet back or side. No odor under the sink and the cavity is shared with the rear furnace so seems as it may pickup and odors.

In mine it only happens on occasion, no smell, clear water. It only happens if it is sat on. The 35K has two bathrooms. It only happens in the rear bath. I’ve never been able to detect water leaking from the valve. It holds vacuum very well. So using the power of deduction I’d have to say it only happens once in a while if someone sits on it. If it happens all the time I figure I could place weight on it and lay on the floor with a flashlight and look for where it leaks. It certainly isn’t pee I’m seeing. Clean water.

We saw this problem a couple of times before we figured out the person sitting on the toilet going #1 had a stream that was hitting below the seat and above the toilet bowl, allowing liquid to escape and run down the outside of the toilet, puddling up on the floor.

How did we figure this out you ask? Saw the same problem while staying with friends in a B&M home. Gap was a little more and some liquid hit the guilty party's leg. That's when we figured it out.

Just something to think about.
