Power Control System Problem

My Power Control System Central Monitor Panel is showing some strange things. Please see below. I'm currently plugged into my house power (20 Amps, I suppose), and all the electrical appliances seem to work just fine. I took the pictures when nothing was on. After I turned one of the air conditioners on, nothing changed on the Monitor Panel, but the Surge Guard showed 8 or 9 amps. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Just a wild guess but I suspect your 20 amp is backwards. Does your 20 amp plug have the 3rd pin (ground)? If not you may have the plug turned 180į.

Thanks for the suggestion, but my plug does have the ground pin. Also, I'm getting the same result when I unplug and run the generator. Also please note that the Surge Guard correctly displays "Shore Power" or "Generator Power" depending on which I'm on.

Here's another piece of possibly relevant information: When I removed the Central Monitor Panel from the wall, there was a slowly flashing red LED in the upper right corner.

Thank you for another suggestion. I disconnected all power and switched both cutoff switches--coach and engine battery. The posted pictures are after restoring power.

Upon further research, I see that not all of the readouts are abnormal. It sounds like the "ON" next to each appliance doesn't really indicate that the appliance is currently on; it just indicates that it hasn't been shed. Also, I previously had 0A next to each appliance, whether running or not. However, that doesn't indicate what the appliance is currently drawing; it indicates what it was drawing at the time it was last shed, so that probably wasn't a problem, since no appliance had been shed since I last reset the system.

What is abnormal, though, is that it says that there's no shore power or generator power when there actually is. Also, the fact that is says, "Wiring Status Error" is clearly not good.

At any hardware store you can get an inexpensive circuit monitor. It is a small unit that plugs into a plug and has three lights. If there is reverse polarity, poor ground, open common, etc it will show it.

I keep one plugged into an outlet all the time and check it every time I hook up.
You might have a poor ground in your coach somewhere.

Send a message via Yahoo to bolhuijo
The manual for that unit indicates that it thinks something is wrong with the source. http://www.precisioncircuitsinc.com/...nersManual.pdf

I have spoken with the people at Precision Circuits before and they seemed helpful. Not sure if they would try to send you to the RV manufacturer for help, but you might try asking them about that specific error message.

Sounds like your Current Sensor. "Amp probe". It's the part that the main wires run through. Your Lucky. Mine failed the other way. Nothing would come on.

Good Luck

Thanks for all the ideas! As it turns out, yesterday after I installed a new shower faucet, replacing the old, leaky one, the Power Control System fixed itself. I'm thinking the RV's spirit appreciated the new faucet and decided to stop complaining through the Power Control System. Go figure.

I must be missing something, cause the Surge Guard display in each of the pictures shows 0 amps. Where are you seeing 8-9 amps?

I only saw 8-9 amps after I turned on an air conditioner, and that wasn't in any of the pictures. All the pictures were taken when no appliances were on.
