[QUOTE=clifftall;636132]Sorry to hear . What shop has a service manager that they won't call back? You may be getting a run around from your " shop ". As far as I know pg is talking to repair facilities.I'd be interested in a follow up when you can. Good Luck.
Cliff
Still have not heard back from Furman 56, but I had my repair facility call pg and they are still in bus. and answering calls . They are in their busy season and may take a little longer to respond. As long as we can get a response and parts, I'm ok with that.

Power Gear Jack won't retract
After reading all these posts on Power Gear, I am nervous about our 2007 Bounder 35e. We have an appointment tomorrow to leave it for repair because the front right would not retract. Does anyone have a reccomendation for a reliable leveler system?

If this is the first problem you've had, count your blessings.
The problem or at least for me, is the expense to retrofit a leveling system. Could easily be several thousands dollars.

Add me to the long list of Powergear haters. 2007 Excursion with electric levelers. Last week $275.00 service call to manually overide the system. (I spent an hour with Fleetwood and we could only get three of them to retract) The mechanic said he could not find anything wrong with the jack he manually raised. Thanks Powergear!!

Power Gear leveling legs
Some sort of legal action seems appropriate, but I am not a legal type.
Have you any responses to your idea?
In 2+ years I have replaced seven (7) legs; mostly under warrenty. I basically gave up using the legs. They break everytime I try them. Now broken again.

Has anyone replaced the entire leveling system for a big Class A?
I have replaced 7 Powergear legs even though I almost never try to use the system.
What good and bad systems are out there?

I can not give legal advice save for "Call an attorney" but.. I can give you two pieces of informaiton.
1: To start a class action suit: Call an attorney (Ok, gave my legal advice for this post)
2: In a class action.. The judge decides how much the attorney gets.. last class action I was involved in by the time I got my share.. $2.00 in store credit which I never had a chance to use.

You had a lot better attorney than my class action had...I got a check for $0.87. I never cashed it either.

I'm curious as to why you had to replace" seven legs ".
I've heard of brake failure and motor failure , but never heard of replacing the " legs"

Cliff,
In every case it was Fleetwood's directions to dealer to R&R. Three times a second jack failed while the dealer was testing the system. After the second of these I switched service provider. Same thing - second jack failed on testing.
PG says "...JACK THAT DROPPED INNER LEG WAS CAUSED BY AN OVER RETRACT CONDITION. THIS SHEARS THE DRIVE PIN AND IS NOT SERVICEABLE. THE JACK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED..."
I am now ready to replace the entire system. Any recommendations?
