There should be a fuse behind the touch panel to control power to it. Also, some systems require the key to be on to power the panel as well.
without knowing which model # your power gear is, I picked one and here are the troubleshooting steps for your specific issue.

COACH IGNITION NOT IN RUN POSITION| TURN IGNITION TO RUN POSITION
TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK OR NEUTRAL| PLACE TRANSMISSION IN PARK OR
NEUTRAL
PARKING BRAKE NOT SET| SET BRAKE
CONTROL HAS BEEN LEFT ON FOR MORE THAN FOUR MINUTES, AUTO SHUT OFF|
PUSH ON/OFF BUTTON TWICE

There are many different power gear jacks, hydraulic, electric, power up, spring up. I would search google with your setup and go from there. There are many troubleshooting tips from other RV'ers and diagram downloads from power gear to help you. If you post the model of the jacks you own? We can help. There is also a section in the owners manual to get the jacks up if there stuck down.

Thanks, this getting old sucks, after reading your comments I went back to the basics. I am parked on soft level ground and forgot to pull out the yellow, all great, have to finish my colouring now
