Power Transfer Switch

I lost all AC power to the coach today. I called the dealer . He said that it was more than likely the power transfer switch. Does anyone know where I might find the panel with the power transfer switches. I have a 2012 bounder 33C any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your ATS (transfer switch) will be a box, either metal or plastic, about 8" x 8", and about 4" deep.

Could be anywhere. Think you are talking about the ATS automatic transfer switch. Had one go in a previous rv....yes no power to the rv. Mine was a black box about 6X6X12.. Mine was less than a year old so it was replaced under warranty. The replacement lasted another 8 months and it went. I had an electrician bypass it ( I had no genny so I really didn’t need it) and did without one.

Some are installed right on top of the fuse/breaker panel enclosure.

Follow your shore cord. It will lead you to it. Sometimes a whack on it with your fist may wake it up.

The Transfer Switch on my 2014 Southwind is a combined Surge Guard and Transfer Switch.
It is located in the rear bedroom on the floor immediately below a drawer.
On earlier models it was located under the bed.
I have also seen them located in an outside storage compartment on similar year Bounders.

Ats found

Found the ats in a compartment under the bed area (outside compartment), the contactor was not engaging. I cleaned it as best i could and it is working for now. Thanks for all your input.

I have an appointment to have it replaced under warranty.

Something to consider.... There's a both inexpensive and fail-proof version of a transfer switch.

The previous owner of my Fleetwood installed a AC outlet fed from the genny compartment.
He'd plug the shore power cord into that outlet to run the MH with the genny.

Yes, it takes a bit more effort, but the most reliable transfer switch is no transfer switch.

Keep in mind most newer coaches have a Control Module the controls the ATS. The control module, monitors the AC waveform, the voltage and current and if happy starts the delayed relays tied to several AC circuits (the AC breaker panel)- 6 circuits in my case. This controller is power by 12 VDC. If no 12 volts, nothing will work! I found this out after replacing my house batteries. For some reason, once the new batteries were connected and the AC pedestal turned, I had no AC! Eventually the controller started working and had AC after 5 hours of troubleshooting-but never really found the problem! Good Luck
