powered TV cabinet won't go up or down '99 American Dream

I had the dash TV cabinet half way up and started the engine. I hit the 'down' switch and nothing happened. I turned the ignition off and removed the key and tried again. It still would not lower or raise. Did I blow a fuse when I tried to activate the cabinet with the key on/engine running or did I damage something expensive? I'll be checking the fuse tomorrow morning.
We're hoping to take our first trip with this MH next week so I hope I'm not driving with a TV cabinet sticking half way up in the center of the windshield.
Thanks for any help or suggestions on this problem.

You don't say what kind of unit you have but with in my American Eagle the tv cabinet mechanism will not work with the engine running or the key turned on. You need to have 120 Volt for the this system so turn on you generator or plug in to shore power and give it a try.

Thanks GACamp. I tried it with the gen going and everything is working now! I finally found some information on the power TV stand that confirms your advice.
I would like to add make, model and year of our 'new to us' MH under the column with my Dustdevil name but I can't find where you can edit in that information. I'm sure it's simple and probably in plain sight on the web page somewhere. If you know could you let me know?
Thanks
