The brake switch has always been wired up this way but I think I'll change it this afternoon and wire it up to the actual switch?

The parking brake should supply a ground when the PB is set. You could probably just jumper pin 1 to ground to see if this is the problem.

ALSO - Its probably not related to your issue, but when the transmission is in gear, you should see a ground on pin 2 and 12 volts on pin 6.

These two pins work together to see if the transmission is in gear.

Good to hear this..

VERY IMPORTANT

Verify that the safety features work. With the jacks down but not touching the ground, start the engine. Leave the leveler system OFF.

Place foot on brake, then shift into gear.

You should get an alarm and the jacks should retract.

Make sure this works, if not, find out why. This is an important safety feature.

When in gear, pin 2 will be ground and pin 6 will be 12 volts.

Good point. Forest River just had a recall on the new 2020 Ford chassis units because there was a wiring error with the new harness.

On a test drive somehow the driver leaned on or put something on the leveler control panel and the jacks started down while driving.

It was a problem with the parking brake lockout wiring.

Does the system work if you release the PB?

On mine, for the system to power up I must have the IGN ON, the PB set, and the trans in P or N

Mine is the same as yours, I also got the pb light to work, the factory connector had a poor connection. Thanks again for your input and help.

GREAT - FYI - I'm working on a project to replace the control module that will add a couple features.

i.e. I can control the levelers remotely, and also I included the ability to extend and retract jacks individually either from the smart phone, or from the original keypad.

I have a 2002 Southwind, i found that pin 6 on the 6 pin connector at the control module wasn't 0v so the leveling jacks wouldn't activate. After I set that pin to 0v the leveling jacks operated. I can't see where the wires go unless I remove the drivers seat to gain access.

Where is the neutral safety switch? I found 2 switches on the back of the gearbox, are they the switches?

thank you
