We use propane. The receptacle for the refrigerator is not fed by the inverter on our coach

If you switch the plugs in the back of the fridge you can actually run it on the inverter but that is not recommended. The ice maker plugs into inverted power and the fridge itself into a non-inverted plug. The inverter will pull the batteries down very quickly. If it is plugged in correctly, the inverter will not power the fridge. The proper cooling source when not plugged in or using the generator, except in areas like ferries and buildings, is propane.

Indeed they do, but there are no facts to substantiate the claim.
Perhaps some anecdotal evidence, but nothing concrete.

You will hear rumors and urban myths....but no solid evidence. Been running with the propane on for 25 years now and never a problem...not have I seen anyone with a problem.
