If your '08 Tahoe is 4WD then it is towable.
I would be surprised if it is NOT 4WD.
See this dinghy guide from Motorhome Magazine:
http://www.motorhomemagazine.com/ima...hy_Roundup.pdf
If I read the listing correctly, the Tahoe was ONLY available as a 4WD in '08 so you should be fine.
I hate to say it, but too often people at the "dealership" rarely knows their own product. Perhaps they hoped to sell you a new Tahoe that "is towable".

You mention a 04 Bounder but don't metion whether it is gas or diesel. Most gas rigs only have a hitch rated for 5000 lbs. and that Tahoe weighs in at a bit over that. Just make sure the hitch is rated for what you are trying to tow.

I tow a ford expedition that I installed a drive shaft disconnect not much trouble I was told if you unbolt universal joint more than twice change bolts seems like a lot of trouble when it's cold or raining or a busy campground.

The listing for the Tahoe shows the 4WD version is towable. That doesn't mean that all Tahoes are 4WD. Motorhome Magazine is only listing towable models, so the 2WD version would not make the list.

One of the best sources of info on this issue is the OWNERS MANUAL. It will tell you whether or not its towable, and if it says YES and you try it and it fails, you have a solid case against Chevrolet. Probably.

It does depend on what transmission you have. Check here Application Charts | Remco Towing for correct info. I also agree with a previous poster. Check you tow hitch capacity and GCWR (Gross Combination Weight Rating).

Thanks for all the post to my question,I have several answers to several question that were ask, I for got to mention our MH is a Diesel, and we did ck our owners manual, with conflicking answers, The manual says we can tow,But also say's, CK with your Dealership.so we did then the guy ask us is it a 4WD. no it's not. So Dealership man say's it's not towable.unless you wont to do as "THA Rooster" suggesed. The hubby doesnt really wont to do that. Sooo we might think about buying a "Jeep" which I didnt really wont to do. .

Google Remco Towing.. They can tell you the best way to tow a _____ (Fill in a make and model)
NOTE: in many cases they offer two choices, One is a lube pump. this is an active device and thus can fail.
The other is either a drive shaft disconnect (Rear wheel drive) or axle lock (Front)
These devices ... Tend to last a long long time (MTBF ... Well.. I won't live that long)
