Calling all Pace Arrow owners.
We have just traded into a 2004 Pace Arrow 37c from a diesel class "C".
Starting to do all the fluid changes and plugs on that big 8.1L gasser, so....
I see the little access door in the middle of the dog house which is about 18" square, and got it out with no problem, however that does not get us very much room to do the plugs, so my question is....

Have any of you ever pulled the BIG dog house this little panel sits on ?

If I could pull that, it would give me much more access to the motor.
Especially the rear most plugs. I really do not want to pull the front wheels just to get in there.

PS I also need a source for the air filter box as ours is broken into several pieces. Yes it sits atop the right front wheel. Not a great idea............

Mike, if you get the large dog house off please let us know how. I have messed around with mine some but could not find any fasteners.

You have to lift all the carpet around the edges And there are screws all the way around.
Did You try changing the plugs from underneath. That is how I changed mine.

Digger.
From underneath ? Thru the wheel well or crawling up between the wheels ?
I can put her up on the jacks and block the frame with jack stands, but the plugs are above the exhaust manifolds.

this is not my idea.. but run a magnet around the edges of big dog house and see if you get any pull.. then see if there are any screws..

Been awhile since we had our Pace Arrow, but there were screws hidden in the carpet that came out to remove the dog house. Then you will have plenty of room. I had to change the exhaust headers. Sat on a bucket underneath and went to work. Great motorhome.

If you sat on a bucket, she must have been up on the jacks.
You think they are trustworthy enough, or did you block the frame w/ stands ?
It sure would be nice to be able to remove the BIG dog house, rather than that little 18" square panel. Then I could get to everything on top of the motor, throttle body, alternator, thermostat, etc.
Sealing it back down with some foam strips and a couple of latches would not be difficult. It does have about a 2" flange all round.
I wonder if anyone has done this before, and would be willing to share how they did it.

I used 6 ton jack stands. I found the screws holding the base down with a magnet. The thing was still a little tough but at that point I was in it to win as they say. It does come off and makes the job much easier.
