Purchasing 2015 Discovery 40G

I have a chance to pull the trigger on a 15 discovery 40g, 14k miles that’s very clean and loaded for 150k. Nada low is saying around 190k used value. Does this seem like a fair deal? Looking for input before I buy it. Here in SoCal seems like everyone is always asking 170k+ for used 40g’s.

i think it's always about what everyone else is selling for.

If you hit RVT or RVtrader and perform a nationwide search for that year, and that model, you can get a very good sense of the price and it's deal worthiness.

I also like to search 1 year back, 2 years back, 3 years back to sort of crystal ball where the value is likely to drop to. Keep in mind, dealers of used RV's purposely list them all much higher than they are willing to sell them for.

Yea I searched that exact way. Not many 40g models for sale. Must be a popular floor plan.

Seems like a really good price to me. I would expect closer to 170-180, but I have not shopped around in a while. It is a good floorplan and finding them used seem to be few. We bought our 2015 40g used two years ago and drove from Atlanta to outside Denver for it. The other one I liked was in Tampa.

We paid 195k for a brand new '15 40E, 3.5 years ago. 150k is way too high. Lucky if I get 125k not traded in, for it now.
Also remember TTL (10%?) is on top of dealers price.

They are not accepting offers on the unit, I tried lol. The 40g’s seem to hold their value a bit better compared to some of the others.

That’s what I’m thinking. They had it priced at 164k and recently just dropped it to 149k to move. I tried offering less but no luck. I think I’ll probably pull the trigger.

Not a bad asking price, whether they'll move a little or not.
But are you trading your present one and the difference paid is what really counts.
Obviously selling yours straight out, would be the way to go.

Question for those that have a discovery. How’s the wind noise at the front seats when driving? My last 2 pushers were absolutely horrible (palazzo 36.1, pace arrow 35e). You had to talk loud having a conversation and also using the Bluetooth on a phone call. Really hoping for a quiet ride.

Or they weren't very popular so not many were made.

Coming from a gas class a it's like driving an electric car. It's pretty quiet in my opinion. More quiet than my Jeep

X2 on the quiet. Mine minor noise is road/tire noise, but still huge improvement over my previous gasser.

We have a 2017 40E and as someone said it is like driving an electric car. We had a gas coach before and it’s a world of difference
