Purchasing Used Bounder Questions

We're considering a used 2010 Fleetwood Bounder 33U from a private party who is the original owner but has health problems now. It has about 11,000 miles on it and appears to be in good shape with new tires. Based on my check of NADA, the price appears to be very good. We would have it checked out thoroughly if we proceed, but it appears to be well maintained on an inside/outside visual inspecction, haven't driven it yet. I'm a previous RV owner, but 29' C Class. The RV (and us) are in the mid-atlantic but it was bought and primarily used down south.

Does anyone have concerns about this model and things like the full wall slideout? Are owners of these happy and how have they held up, being V10 gas? Should we barter for or buy a warranty since it's out of the mfg warranty? Which are worthwhile? Someone mentioned XtraRide.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is the floor plan something you would be satisfied with for years to come? Are the tires really new or just have a lot of tread on them? Look for the DOT date stamp into one side of each tire. If you're not familiar with that, it is starts with DOT and ends with a 4 digit number, the first two being the week and the last two being the year of manufacture. Such as 2312 would be the 23rd week of 2012. With 11000 miles on it, they could be original tires with not much wear and could be 2010 or even 2009 tires....nearing the end of recommended replacement life.

Yeah.
I just bought a 2007, 38N Bounder.
Tires look perfect, lots of tread, no cracks, I MEAN look perfect.
Date code on them, 3806 on one or two, 3606 on a couple. Time for replacements for sure!!$$$$

Try the FMCA Michelin tire program. It saved me over $600 a few years ago.

The Ford powertrain and chassis is a very good one. At 11,000 miles it is barely broken in. That said, the Ford chassis is a rough ride and engine is typically loud under acceleration. Sometimes people complain about the lateral motion of the shorter motorhomes. 36 to 38' is sometimes a better ride in the wind.
