rear sag
New member. I have been reading the different groups and subjects, I can learn a lot here. Question? I have a 2003 Bounder. Have a sag on right rear of 2 1/2 inches. Replaced right side springs front and rear. Installed was RV Dealer where purchased. They said that rear springs were broken down, only 4000 miles on coach, still sags.

Howdy Larry and welcome. I'm surprised that a motorhome with only 4,000 miles on it had bad springs. Of course, what I know about suspension would fit in a thimble with lots of room to spare. Hopefully someone with more expertise will show up soon.

A 2003 unit. You can get the springs rearched at a truck suspension shop.
But remember that as we all get older things will sag......

A couple of years ago I looked at a "NEW" unit that was leaning because of weak springs, so nothing surprises me any more. My unit had rear end sag, the recommendation was re-arching the springs or AirBags. I opted for the bags and I have been very happy with them. I like the adjustability with load changes that it gives me.

I also have some rear sag caused by age, but the doctor just recommended some additional aerobic activity...
(sorry, could not resist)

Only 4k? The dealer is going to tell you whatever you want to hear to make a sale. Have it weighed at all four corners. You just might be over weight on that side and can re-distribute the weight.

You keep rubing it in. The next post will be about loosing weight not just moving it around..

It sounds like the manuf. may have overloaded the right rear. The first thing to do is have the 4 corners weighted. make sure you are in weight limits. If you are OK, I would add air bags. I have installed many sets and my customers were happy with the results. It will help the ride and you can add air until the rear is equal.
