Rear view camera Microphone shutoff

Ok strange goings on.

I've just been trying to ignore it but...

2015 fleetwood discovery 40g. The multimedia system is clunky to say the least. More importantly the backup and sideviee camera monitor (which is really really helpful) makes continous noise while driving. Static or wind noise.

Volume control is all the way down. I have to shut off the monitor to get it to be quite.

Do I have to disconnect the microphone? How and where? I will gladly use wire cutters or a large hammer at this point.

Thanks

You didn't mention the make and model of the multimedia system. I suggest you Google the make and model to find a manual for it. The manual should show whether the camera inputs are separate for video and sound or integrated. If separate, it would be a simple matter of unplugging the sound input. If it's integrated, it might require more delicate surgery to separate out the sound from the video.

On mine I turned down the volume all the way on the camera monitor (not the radio) and it seemed to do the trick. I have a 2015 as well.

It was annoying. Now I only hear it "click" when it flips from side to rear cams after turning. ... And I don't care for the side cams, I think I would rather use the rear one when changing lanes since I can see the toad.
