Removing, repairing and replacing the slide in my RV

The center of my slide in my 2012 Fleetwood Storm 28ms is scraping on the motor housing, and has caused a deep gouge in the underside of the slide. The repair shop has indicated that it is recommended to remove the slide completely, install rollers about 1/4 way in on both sides and replace. The cost quoted will be about $6000-$10000 Has anyone had issues with this problem? Is the cost to remove and replace the slide this high? It is a full length slide.

I think you can move the slide out a couple inches then raise the interior half of the slide with a pry bar and wedges. Once the inside is up on wedges you may have enough room to install some rollers.

I removed, repaired and re-installed rollers on my 40" full wall slide this way.
