Replacing house batteries in 2007 35E Workhorse

It's time for new house batteries in our 2007 35E on a Workhorse chassis - I'm looking for tips on the best way to get the old batteries out of the step well, and the new ones in. It doesn't seem like there's a lot of room for lifting them out - can I use a strap connected to the posts to lift the things?

Thanks!

Instead of hooking to the posts can you get a strap under the battery and lift that way? You can't damage a battery any more than it is now removing it by the posts but if the posts failed and you dropped it and cracked the case acid will be all over the place. So if you can get a strap underneath the battery and hook another strap to it it might be easier and less risky.

A strap is fine. They make a strap that fits the posts.

Yes, a battery strap. Handy item to have around.
