Revolution Clear Coat

Because the clear coat on the top of Revolutions is very prone to flake I'm wondering if there is something to help prevent this from happening to begin with. We just bought a 2007 Revolution LE 40E and it spends its non-use time under a cover and the clear coat hasn't flaked...yet. Will a good wax help with this issue? Or is it just a matter of time? I also wonder if mine has already been fixed at some point? The owner I got it from is the 3rd and doesn't know anything about it.

It's not just the Revolution. It's practically any class A. My 06 Journey, same story. From the roof rail up, about 6-10 inches is painted. That and the 10 inches above the W/S is peeling.
From my 45 years in the body shop and insurance adjuster, can you prevent it? No. Can you slow it down? Yes. If there is no flaking or peeling at all, if it looks like new yes, keep it clean and a good quality polish on it will help a lot. You might not see it at 15 years, or even 20, but it likely will happen.

Same thing with older Class A without full body paint. The decals crack. It's just the nature of fiberglass and paint.

Mine is at the factory for some service. Just for giggles I asked how much to repaint that top. They use a local vendor for all their paintwork so I called them. He didn't even need to look at it. $700. Does them all the time. I'm retired and my son has a body shop. I wouldn't even get on a ladder for that. It's on it's way now!
