Roof material

I have a 2006 Bounder 34H and it's time to re-seal the seams on the roof. I've taken as much of the fantastic vents apart as I care to but still couldn't find a bit of the roof material.

I'm pretty sure it's TPO from the texture but I don't know if it has a fleece backing. I'd rather not damage the roof to find out.

Anybody know for sure what FW used in 2006.

TPO, But

There are two types according to the PDF at Dicor Corporation | The Dicor Corporation | Official Website.

If it has a fleece backing you're supposed to use the Dicor Ultra sealants, if it doesn't have fleece use the regular lap sealants.

Using the wrong one causes the TPO to blister according to dicor.

I would be interested I'm the answer to this. I did not realize there were two different TPO. We too have a 2006 Bounder 38J DP.

My owners instruction manual identifies the material on my roof and what sealant to use. Remember, If all else fails read the instructions.

My Fleetwood manual does NOT indicate what sealant to use for my TPO roof, only "Repair kits are available through your dealer. The roof requires special adhesives and material. Do not use silicone sealants."

I suspect he probably did read it and found his manual from another Fleetwood model is similarly silent. I have the same question for my rig.

Of course I checked my manuals. What I didn't do was check Damon manuals.

Hey Muddypaws, maybe I simply missed it in my manuals, but are there care directions telling you to reseal? or are you having a specific problem? Reason for asking is I have a 2005 Bounder 32W and don't want to miss something that may cause a problem later. Maybe i should look at more information on the TPO roofs.

Per Fleetwood

The TPO roof on my 2006 does not have the backing material. Thus the correct sealant to use is regular Dicor. Not Dicor Ultra.

It's probably the same material you'll find on a 2005. But it wouldn't hurt to call Fleetwood with your FIN#.
