Depending on the nature of the holes, check out Eternabond tape. Comes in various widths and is pretty durable stuff.

Someone told me to try that flexseal tape, didn't sound too good

Dicor or similar lap sealer for small holes or slits. Or Eternabond (or equivalent) tape, Not "as seen on tv" either. Get a real roof repair tape. If not Eternabond of Dicor Diseal, one of the otehrs such as Thermacote or Gorilla Patch & Seal tape.
