Has anyone had to replace a TPO roof? What does it cost?

I had mine replaced in 2008, under warranty and would be also curious!

Two years ago I heard of a price of $8000 to do a 38' Bounder. That's what the ins. Co paid the shop.

Prices can and will always vary for location. I've heard in the 5K range in this area. An RV place of about 5-6 years locally has an alternative to the ORIGINAL FABRIC and from the 4K to 5k depending on length.
Curious several years ago about what was included, I read an article in I believe an RV Net magazine, on a roof replacement @ an RV place in Nashville, TN. Their installers were so cautious and I was so impressed at their quality. Not much more than what a Vinyl roof used to be on automobiles, just a rubber base. JMHO. Travel safe.

Hmmm... this subject sort of scares me. As in, I'm currently shopping for a MH, mostly looking at Bounders due to their value-for money spent. I'd hate to make a purchase then find out i have to drop $5-8,000 on a new roof. Kind of defeats the purpose.
How does one protect oneself in such a transaction. I guess make an offer "subject to inspection/ survey?" Like buying a boat or home?

Exactly right; a paid inspection inside and out. I don't believe Bounders have any more roof issues than any other brand of RV. If this thread was in the Class A section instead of Fleetwood Owners, you'd see responses from other brands as well. Bounders (and Fleetwood in general) are an excellent bang for the buck.
Also, some roof repairs/replacements are due to damage from tree limbs, storms, etc. ... not simple failures. Good luck with your search.

If you are a do it yourselfer,it can be done for MUCH,Much less than that.I replaced the roof on my 32h last spring for around six hundered dollars.
I understand part of the cost as its labor intense, but overall its a simple task to accomplish

Check out EPDM rubber roofing by Google. I just did my 1999 American Tradition 40.
The cost was $665.00 - Said to last 15 to 18 years.
I did this myself and I am 72. You can check it out on U TUBE, there are several seniors doing the same thing to their roofs.
I am really happy I tackled it, I had to put on a primer first over the old rubber roof and then applied the EPDM liquid roof.
Like I said it show's you step by step on U TUBE, VERY SIMPLE
Hope this helps a lot of folk's
