I start out with full tank of fresh water and do not bother hooking up to city supply if only stopping for 1 night. My coach rides better with full water tank. I use generator on the road for A/C in coach and let fridge run on electric since generator is running why use the propane, generator uses same amount of fuel with or without fridge on electric.

We start long trips with full tank of water from home. If we are trying to make time we won't stop at a campground but stay overnight at Walmart, Sam's club, truck stops etc. We can go for days with the 100 gallons of fresh water we start out on. When we get to a place where we know the water is good we'll fill up.

In hot weather we will run the generator for the roof AC's, we leave the refrigerator on auto so if we start generator it goes to 120 volt, if not it stays on propane.
