Satellite add on help
Hi all
I am wanting to add satellite via a Winegard X2 to our 2015 35b Excursion. I understand you can’t just connect to the cable input as it won’t pass the 12v to the antenna and this coach does not have a satellite input installed. What is the easiest way to address this?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Add a cable through the wall near where the receiver will be.

Since the TV is in the slide, maybe there is enough room on the underside of the slide below the TV to mount a connecter. Then run the cable up through the cabinet below the TV to the components shelf.
If your unit is prewired for rooftop satellite, then the 2 coax cables (1 for mid TV and 1 for bedroom/outdoor TV) run through the cabinet about the door. You can remove the panel with all of the controls and the cables will be in there. You could possibly splice in at that location. Those cables may be marked, but don't remember, its been a few years since we added the rooftop satellite antenna.

Easiest? Well, we have the X2 and simply route the cable from the Pathway to the Wally receiver through the coach window using a flat cable like this from Amazon to be able to close the window:

Are you sure it won't work through the cable hookup?

Do you have a Wingard Antenna/cable switch? If so you could connect to the cable coax behind the switch plate. Since you are using the X2, hookup is fairly easy. Hook up your X2 and run the cable to your receiver thru a window/door and when you get signal disconnect and try using the cable connection as wired.

Use a hot spot
If you already have a satellite account at home you can watch any thing that's on your system at home over the internet. I just bought a myfi from Verizon and connected my laptop to the tv . We watch shows we have on the DVR or any channel we want. And the best thing you don't have to spend the money on the satellite or poke holes in your RV

Might cost more in the long run to keep feeding Verizon $$$ than to "poke holes".
We used to do the same thing with our home TiVo but in the end it was much more convenient and practical money-wise to get the portable satellite working given the Verizon expenses and too many times when we couldn't get a good enough connection to stream.

What does this accomplish?

A lot of times there are no splitters in the coax between the exterior cable connection and the Winegard OTA/cable switch and that piece of coax will pass the required 12 volt power and can be used to get the satellite antenna signal inside the MH with out having to run a new cable.
This will confirm Whether or not you can use your cable connection for Dish.
