Shower faucet/diverter/2010 Discovery

I am on a 1 month trip and while installing the amazing oxygenic shower head my faucet/diverter has sprung a leak below where the hose attaches. Looks like I need a new one. The shower still works and even gives a body spray from the valve. I can turn off both valves and no leaks. There is no plate it attaches to. There are two shelves in the shower. One below and one above that I believe can be removed to get to the back of the device unhook it and push it out?. Headed out tomorrow to get a new one. Anyone have any experience replacing these things. What else do I need to buy while i am at the store or make sure I don't break something else. DW will be here Friday and I need to fix this. Thanks JD

I've looked at that too. I also decided that those shelves would come out for the diverter to be changed. I haven't been brave enough to tackle it yet. You do like the shower head though?

Not a big fan of new shower head. Everything worked fine until I was asked to improve the hair washing ability. I have no hair. Still functions with added body spray from faucet. Just need to know how to take the old one out. I think I have to take out the shelves or enjoy the spray. JD

Oxygenic shower head

Re: like the Oxygenic? Installed one of these last May and love it. It is a improvement over the old one at good water pressure (45-55psi).

But when you have LOW campground pressure like we had yesterday and at a second CG today (just 30-35lbs), it makes a HUGE difference. I highly recommend it, preferably without the body spray

Check the other side of the wall directly opposite the faucet. On my 2006 coach there is a mirror there and when you remove the mirror you can get access to the shower valve.

I installed the Oxy head and it works fine,, Not quite as good as the forum would lead me to believe but clearly better than the one it replaced.

The diverter assembly was not changed.. here I will describe the problem.

If it is a tub/shower diverter (I have one of those, long story but it's a replacement) then what I'm about to type does NOT apply

if it's a mixing valve with the 1/2 inch IPT fitting on top (OEM) then it does

Inside that 1/2 inch fitting is a rubber flapper.

This is a vacuum breaker assembly The idea is that when you shower the rubber washer flaps down against a hole that is in 1/2 of the fitting (the other half is where the water comes up) and seals 9it

Why did I replace my Mixer? The washer did not seal (WITH OEM SHOWER HEAD) turns out all I needed to do was clean and re-install

And that is what the O/P needs to do too, Clean and reinstall that washer,, Assuming he did not toss it.

Well I got it apart without going through the back or breaking anything. Put back together with more Teflon tape and no leaks. Not to impressed with Oxygentics I have both apressure reducer on water line and low campground pressure. Should I remove the pressure regulator and give her a try? Thanks for everybody's help. JD

Your year Discovery may already have a pressure reducer built in. I normally check a water supply with a gauge and if pressures are lower than 60 psi then I don't connect the Watts Whole House Pressure Reducer at all.

If you are using the simple ~5"-long pressure regulator, I found mine nearly always robbed too much pressure and stopped using it. I've been happy with one that includes a gage and an adjustment screw, which I've set for 55psi.. I leave it on all the time.

Same here. The better regulator with gauge solved a lot of issues.
