Sleep Number bed

Anyone have/had trouble with their Sleep Number bed?

I have a 2007 Bounder with factory installed Sleep Number bed.
I have no read out on either of my hand pieces, they light-up when I press the up/down arrows, but nothing else. They are hard-wire, not remote. The pump runs, but I'm not sure what it's actually doing. Sometimes, I can feel the "matress" inflate/deflate.
I've gotten down to the pump under the bed. I found some of the hoses smashed between the bed frame/support and the outside wall. It's obvious this was done when Fleetwood built the coach.

Any suggestions?

malexander-

The is a video on YouTube that shows how to repair a Sleep Number control. I'd link to it for you, but that is more difficult to do from my phone.

Had a sleep number bed for a year. Comfortable enough when you get the right number. We kept forgetting to deflate to 00 when going over mountain passes here in Calif. Wifes side developed a big bubble on her side....goodby sleep number! One less thing to worry about while on the road

Well, I'm not going to spend a bunch of money on mine trying to make it work.

I'll just get a good matress and pitch the sleep number.

Costco has a memory foam mattress that we got for the rig. It was about $400 and extremely comfortable for us.

Not sure how much of the warranty is left, but call Sleep Number and tell them it is not working. Do not volunteer any information if you are the second owner, they won't ask, and as they say, if they don't ask, don't tell. I was able to replace the pump, hoses and now have a nice wireless remote for $100 which included shipping. The wireless remote is nice, and have a pump that works is even nicer. Like yours, Fleetwood also pinched my airlines from the pump to the mattress on mine.

That is GREAT advice!

Just exactly what I did. Do NOT vary from that script. About $100 and you'll have a new pump and wireless remote to control the mattress.

Take care,
Stu

I did the same thing. A little less than $100 and I got a reman pump and wireless remote with a 1 yr warranty. Super deal. Great people to deal with. And the wife and I both like the SN mattress. Very comfortable for both of us.

Thanks for all the info folks.
I'll do just that.
I actually took it out of the coach last night to see if there may be something I could do to it.
I'll call Sleep Number Monday morning.

Don't mention anything about attempted repairs. Any unauthorized repair attempt may void the warranty. Just explain that you can no longer read the settings on the controller.

Take care,
Stu
