Slide problem with 35K Bounder

Currently in shop but has anyone had problems with Living Room slide bolts shearing off. We've had 2 shear off. Once the slide would not go in and the second time it would not go out. Both time found broken bolts under slide.

I've heard of some but not many. I carry a few just in case.

This is what they look like ( for those who haven't seen them)

Thanks Cliff. Yes that is what it looks like. I now have a couple extra, however the last time part of the bolt broke off in railing ND I could not get it out. Had to get from Palm Desert to Phoenix. Slide was out about 2 inches. Called Fleetwood and they told me it was ok to drive as long as the slide was not out more than 6 inches. It worried me the whole trip until I got it in LaMesa rv.

Hi Sarah. That one is a Power Gear part. I bought a few at a hardware store. They are grade 8 material. 1/4" 20 x 1 1/2".

Sarah, it is a 2012 bounder. LaMesa RV did fix the slide and had to synchronize both sides of the slide so they would b even. It appears to b fixed now. The bolts appear to b pretty small 4 such a big slide. I have a few extra now just in case.

Wow. I'm glad they got it fixed for you. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from now on!

Probably a dumb question, but how do you get to them?

There is no such thing as a dumb question. Trust me , I know. Look under the driver side slide at the motor. There is a 3/4-1 inch square tube going into each side of the motor. They are attached to the motor with these bolts. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the response, but the problem is I don't know how to access the motor. The unit was a consignment, and the selling dealer didn't know anymore about it than I did, just from reading various forums.

There is a a metal plate about 6"x9" on the top of the storage bay under the slide that I was told is the access, but I've never looked. Are these bolts something you can replace setting in the campground with the slide out?

I would give FW a call. 800-332-8216. Have your FW ID # handy if you do.i don't know the answer to your question about changing it at a campground. You also can email Power Gear with that question. Their address is. info@powergearus.com .

Let us know how you make out.
