Slides - Jack Procedure

Good day Fleetwood owners,
I am in the process of a possible purchased of a 07 39L (4 slides) Discovery. When checking it out, I found that the engine must be running to move the jacks up or down, along with the slides. This is just the opposite of the coach I had before - Newmar, where the engine had to off and the key in the ACC position. On the Newmar, Jacks went down first to level, then Slides. When ready to go, Slides in then Jacks. I would like to know the procedure on the Fleetwood Discovery. Seem like it is always good to level first, then not to strain the motors on the slides.
Best Regards
Dutch Master

Engine running, brake on, jacks down, slides out (at least in our Discovery)

On my Excursion, the procedure is engine running, level first, then slides. Next to each room slide control is the written procedure.

As far as I know, it is always best to level, before running the slides out & keep level until slides are in, on any RV (trailer or motorhome).

I can run the slides in or out, with the engine off and key in accessory position. I suspect that the recommendation to have the engine running has something to do with the draw on the batteries. I have run my slides in & out with engine running and with engine off... I notice no difference.

I am not sure about the jacks... never tried to level with the engine off.
