I believe the LED only lights when there is demand for the trickle charger. If you watch the video above where the guy replaced the solar panel...watch towards the end where he goes into the coach to see if the light is on. Note the little sticker next to the LED light.
Not sure on that. I only briefly saw it on after install of new panel. Havent seen it on since 1+ year.

The light now works on the AC panel inside the RV. I took my shop pad that I use to lay on and laid it over the solar panel on top (roof) then went inside the RV. The LED goes off if the panel is covered and no sunlight hitting it.
