Some help with Towing Hitch

We have never towed anything behind any of our MH before but now we are thinking that we would to since we have this new coach. Our car is towable but here is my delima.

Standing behind the coach, the hitch that is on the rig seem real high and wondering if some tow bar will have to be modified since the hitch is so high. I think what is making it so high is the wheels are 22.5.

I know there are several name brands of tow bars out there, I wouldn't know where to start.

If anyone could send me some picture of their set with the sam size wheels I have so I can see how it looks.

Thanks!

Thanks Steve! We have a 2009 Hyundai Elantra that is 5 speed manual trans. Our other car is a 2012 Rough, was told that it is not towable because of "all wheel drive"

I see the link you sent me has several and some with holes to adjust the height.

Been looking on craigslist and there are several listed for sale but really do not know much about them. I know I will have to buy a base plate or something for the towed car.

The reason your hitch is high is that Fleetwood builds the RV with the slanted rear to help keep it from "tail dragging" when on an incline due to the wheelbase.

Most of us Bounder owners have to use some size of the drop-hitch, depending on the height necessary to keep the towbar level. We tow a Jeep Wrangler (stock) and our drop hitch is 8".

Most of your towing questions will get better responses in the Toads and Motorhome Towing Section. Toads and Motorhome Related Towing - iRV2 Forums There are lots of existing discussions of base plates, tow bars, braking systems, etc.
