Southwind captains chairs

I cannot get the lever to release the swivel lock on driver’s side captain chair. Any suggestions??? 2003 Fleetwood Southwind 32VS new to me

It's a pretty simple set-up. You have the lever on the seat, a cable and a latching arm that goes in and out of a slot. Grab a flashlight and lay on the floor and find the cable and follow it to the latching arm. Pull the lever on the seat and see if the latching arm raises out of the slot. If it does the seat may just be stuck in that position and may need some persuasion and lube to make the seat swivel. If the arm doesn't move try manually lifting it out of the slot. You could have a stretched or broken cable. If the arm just wiggles when you pull the lever you just have to adjust the cable

Great answer Gene. I would add that the cable is attached to the seat with a small clip. 99% of the time the clip had come loose from the seat frame. I repaired a couple of dozen seats that had this problem.

We have a 2003 Bounder 35R Gasser and the Driver side captain chair does not unlock. The passenger does but not the Drivers side. If the 32VS is a Diesel, maybe it does...?��
