2011 Southwind 32V

Happy with my Southwind. She has been a very good motorhome and hopefully will remain so for a long time.

Southwind 34A

Just purchased a 2016 34A. The quality compared to my previous Thor Citation is far better. Only 4 items to address on punch list so far.

Great layout!! After minor upgrades (see 3 Fixes that transformed my F53 in Ford Motorhome Chassis Forum), the Southwind's driving manners match the interior layout in favorability!!!!

Well almost, as of this date our 2016 Southwind 34A is heading West from factory to Niel's RV in Van Nuys CA where I will take delivery in a few days. A shout out to our salesman Nick Tannous for making the purchase a pleasurable experience.

2016 Southwind 34A

Purchased in October and took it out twice. Impressed with most features. Currently at dealer for over a month addressing 13 issues. The most significant include a defective on demand water heater (which I learned today has a recall issued in November due to overheating). A Vacuflush toilet that beats like a drum while building up vacuum. A fireplace that set off the smoke detector when the fan failed to turn on (fortunately, I was in the coach to witness the orange glow coming from the fan area and being able to shut off the unit before it caught fire). The water pump stopped working. Both slides are scratching walls and tearing off molding. Floor has indentations from main slide. Cameras stopped working while taking RV to dealer for repairs. I had already repaired things that did not require cost including the latch on the bedroom sliding door, the alignment of the leaking shower inclosure, devising latching mechanisms for both the freeze drawer and slide out pantry so they don't open while traveling plus a few others. Needless to so, I am not impressed with the initial fit and function of this new RV, however, I am reserving final judgement until I pick it up from the dealer. I really like the RV's overall design and features and hope to be a happy camper after all issues are resolved.

I have a 32 footer, 1999. I cant find my water bypass valve either which will allow me to fill fresh water from the campground water supply side.
Also, I get a beeping signal from, I believe, the parking brake when I release the parking brake, it goes away after traveling for about 20/30 minutes. I guess there must be a limit switch some where. It may come from the leveler jack circuit???

So has anyone converted their Head..er Southwind tv's to today's technology? Flat screens, soundbars, etc. What can I do with that old-tech dvd player/5 speaker sound system.
My 32" Samsung will fit between the two flip up doors on either side of the old tv. Would like to get rid of the existing sat dish and incorporate Dish into the system. I have a Dish 1000 dish and tripod. Should I consider a Dish 722 receiver?

Hi stillamook. We have a 1998 Southwind and our beeps if we leave the tv antenna up and turn the ignition key on or if the built in satellite dish is up it will start beeping if the key is turned on. Do you have a light on the dash for your leveling jacks? Ours does and if the jacks are down, and you turn the key on, the light flashes and it also beeps. Also, if your jacks are up and it's beeping, you may just need hydraulic fluid added to the jacks reservoir. (Transmission fluid ). Hope this helps!
