Southwind slide out not fully retracted.

after a very nice memorial weekend trip, got back him safe and sound. Today I attempted to slide the front slide to clean. The side went out but was making a very loud mechanical noise. When I attempted to bring the slide in the same noise, but louder, and sounded like the gears were grinding but not catching. The slide did not come in. I had to tilt the RV using the jacks to the passenger side. Then kept my hands on the power button. The slide came in but refused to come in all the way. Any idea how I can get the side fully in so I can drive it to the repair shop?. Its sticking out about 2 inches.

1. You can try having someone push on the slide while you hold the switch.
2. There should be a "manual" hand crank nut, about 3/4 inch in size. Probably a rachet wrench will do the trick.
3. If it is only sticking out a couple inches, you might still be able to drive it to the repair shop.

Unhappy Rubber seal on bottom of slide of 2003 Southwind

Hello all,

Pictured is the underside of the slide from the driver door and the other side so you can see where the rubber is separating

Can someone please tell me if I an use 100% RTV Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant to fix/glue the part of the rubber seal on the underside of the driver side slide that is falling off each time I retract the slide?

If the silicone rubber adhesive sealant (which appears to work - according to several reading sites - on seals around windshields) is not recommended, what is better/best?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you

I would use 3M or Permatex Weatherstrip Cement.
