I have a '96 Fleetwood Southwind Storm on the Chevy P-30 chassis. the Speedometer reacts to the engine speed, not the road speed. When accelerating from a stop the speedo will register 90 mph before shifting to 3rd gear.
I consulted a transmission shop and was informed that it was an electronic speedo. I was also told that when the speed sensor goes bad it simply quits working.
Is it possible that an arcing spark plug wire could be interfering with the signal to the speedo. Where is the receiver for the signal that is intended for the speedo.
Thank you for any input.
