Squeaky Entry Door American Coach Tradition

We are working the kinks out of our new to us, 2013 AC Tradition. Yesterday we had our Entry Door start Squeaking Loudly when it is opened. I had a can of Tri-Flow that I squirted that on all the moving hinge parts that I could see, both inside and also from the outside. No success. Then I tried a can of WD-40, also no better.

Anyone have any suggestions, it really sounds terrible.

Thanks in advance,

Broker

My 2006 Fleetwood had the same issue. We camp off-road quite a bit and the door would always squeak. Thought it was the hinges getting dirt in them. Sprayed those hinges with everything under the sun to no avail.

Almost replaced all the hinges at one point. Finally started to think outside the box and found out that the hinge that limits the opening of the door so the wind doesn’t take it was all it was. Had to take the inside door skin off (6/8 screws), and after a couple shots of lubricant, all fixed. It’s like a new door. Couldn’t believe it took me so long to figure it out.

‘14 Revolution = different hinge, same squeak, sometimes punctuated by a “thump.” Disassembled the travel limiter & found a burr/imperfection, from wear, on a pivot pin. Filed the burr & greased everything w/white lithium. Done.

Lubricating the exterior hinges will not fix it. You'll have to remove the inside door panel to access the problem. We had our squeak fixed by the AC techs at a rally last summer, but I did not see what they did. However....it's doing it again, and too cold to take the door panel off. They did say some squeaks cannot be repaired and I'd have to get a new part if that is my problem.

Had the same issue on my 2011. Removed the door panel as mentioned and sprayed down the moving assemble inside the door with a spray grease product I had on hand. It has been quiet for yrs now.
