Step Not Working Holiday Rambler Vacationer

I have a 2017 Holiday Rambler Vacationer XE 32A and my step is not working, does anyone know where the fuse is located as i cant find it, I have looked at the fuse panel in the bedroom but it is not there and cant find any other fuses. Any help would be appreciated, when I call customer service Im on hold for anywhere to 30-40 minutes, thanks.

I guess it can vary where the fuse is from what I hear. I love how zilch is marked for fuses etc. But I do believe most of the time the step fuse is in the fuse box under the engine hood.

I just had the same issue with my Bounder which is similar to yours. Open your door, go under the motorhome (clear of the steps) and look for a 4 prong plug. It is about 18" inward from the steps. Unplug it. Then plug it back in and see if your step amber light comes on. Some don't have the step light but if you do you'll see it at the forward part of the steps underneath. If the light comes on you have power. If that light comes on you could have various issues that can be hard to trace. On mine it was (I think!!!) the ground wire was not making full contact.

You can go to My LCI and they have pretty complete diagnostic info. There is an APP for your phone.

Bottom line is----You could have a bad connection someplace. I really like using die electric grease in those plugs. Keeps the contacts from corroding and helps to keep water out.
You could have a bad motor or control module which to me is stupid on something as new as this.

And make sure to lube all those pivot points on those steps. I use that garage door spray lube and it seems to work great.

Good Luck

Check that ground wire. On mine they put the ground wire eyelet on with a small self tapping screw into the rear portion of the house battery tray. The frame was painted so the connection was poor. It carried enough amps to light up the step lamp, but the steps didn't go down. I ground off a small patch of paint and put a new eyelet and larger self tapping screw in.

The door closing sensor can be checked by holding a magnet on it. The advice of the amber light coming on is good- it shows that there is power to the steps. On my last two rv's with Lippert steps I have had to replace the motor three times. I now carry a spare. It only takes about 5 minutes to replace. The motor and gear box is about 80.00. If your ground is good and the plug is seated well and the door magnet is working you might want to get one and it will likely fix your problem. If not you will at least have a spare. It is sometimes easier to replace the motor than to troubleshoot.
