stepping up to bounder

Tomorrow my dw and I will be switching over to a 2006 bounder 35e.Our first rv was a 28' coachmen class c with no slides. This seems like a technological leap and any advice with this model will make our transition easier. The unit has a workhorse chevy combo.Any feedback on past problems or lookouts will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Congrats on your great choice. We have a 35e and love it. There was a brake recall on the Workhorse that you may want to check out if it was done. Come post any Fleetwood specific topics on that forum. There are a lot of us out there to assist. Your Norcold refer also had a recall last year. Good luck and enjoy.

Great choice, not that I'm biased towards Bounders . I'm sure you'll enjoy the upgrade. As Cliff stated, be sure the recalls have been done on your coach before you take delivery.

Love my 35e with the 8.1, you'll love yours as well. That Chevy just loves the hills. Enjoy your choice.

theduktor,

I have a 35E and love every inch of it. As you well know, motorhomes can be money pits but you can save quite a bit of money in labor if you DIY. We have many members that will help you in your endeavor to be "king of the road" without having to be a king.
I believe you have Power Gear electric levelers and, if you wish, Cliff can fill you in on helping to prevent costly breakdowns in time and money by preventative maintenance.

Thanks for volunteering me.

I think the OP has Attwood Jacks. PG was 07-08 with a few early 09's , however we will always help in any way we can

Cliff is correct. Since it's an 06, they'll have the Atwood Levelegs, like we do.

Wrong Cliff and still on the hook,

PG Electric Jacks came out in early 2006 and are in the 2006 Bounder Brochure. You should be happy that you can still help!!!!!
I believe they used both companies until Attwoods were used up.

Yes, electric. I just realized the OP is looking at a WH (mine's a Ford). Would they be different?

theduktor.

When you have a chance, please find out what brand of electric jacks you have. There should be a manual for your jacks that will have this info.

thanks for the help

We had hoped to pick up our 06 bounder yesterday, but saw the condition of the carpeting and refused to take it in that condition. We discovered that after knowing for a week and a half that we would be there for delivery there were unresolved issues mechanically as well that a phone call to us would have prevented this frustration. After much discussion they are going to replace the carpeting for us in the coach at their expense.I must say in all earnestness that the people involved are doing the right thing, however it should not have to have been pushed by us.It should have been the policy of the company to sell a quality item from the start. So we will pick it up next week, assuring them we are in no hurry, take your time and do it right. Why can we get it right the second time ,rather than the first?
