Stereo Removal

Hello all,

I’ve got a 2005 PaceArrow with a stubborn stereo. I’m trying to remove it to gain access behind the dash. I am pretty sure I need to slide a wire type tool into the holes on either side of the stereo in order to release the clips. I have tried using small screwdrivers and also made tools from a coat hanger to slide in the holes. I believe the left side is releasing, but I am unable to budge the right side. Am I doing the right thing to release a stereo? Any other suggestions on how to release the right side?

Thanks,

Phil

Take a metal coat hanger and cut it to make those “U” shapes you see above. Insert them into the holes and gently push them outward as you pull the radio out.
