2004 American tradition, I had the stop engine warning light com on for a bout 3 minutes. There is no engine code in the computer, has anyone see this?

Check all fluids. Coolant or oil being low could both trigger the warning. Did just the light come on or did the engine 'derate' and lose power?

The light can come on for a variety of reasons, and sometimes is accompanied by another light, e.g. low coolant. Also, be aware there are some slight differences between the Spartan and Freightliner versions of the Liberty chassis in the '04's, so some of the advice you get may not apply.

My '04 Trad (Freightliner) was prone to turning the light on when decelerating using the engine brake, but it would clear itself quickly, usually within 10-30 seconds. It was also more likely to occur if the fuel filter was getting clogged, perhaps causing a fuel limitation.

If the situation is serious, the engine computer will de-rate, i.e. limit horsepower dramatically, and the transmission probably prevents overdrive as well.

I pulled over and checked all levels, water temp, oil pressure were normal. The light and buzzer came on. The engine was running normal. I plugged my laptop in and checked for any codes there were none.

I had just changed the fuel filter the day before. I had about 200 miles on it before the alarm.

Are there any wires around the fuel filter , as the light and alarm sounds like it found a ground to turn it on the light which would make it back feed to turn the alarm on plus check bulb , I usually just change the bulb . but inspect the old one . and don't throw it away till the problem is solved. And you changed the fuel filter because why.
