TECMA Toilet in 2005 Pace Arrow

I recently purchased a 2005 Pace Arrow 36D. Luckily the coach came with most of the owner's manuals. One that I am missing is for the Tecma electric toilet. I have contacted Thetford and they insist that based on the model number, I have a macerating unit. There is nothing in the Fleetwood brochure that indicates it is a macerating unit. In anycase, does anyone have an original owner's manual for the toilet for the 2005 model that they could share?

I have the Tecma in my 2006 Revolution in the rear bathroom and regular toilet in the half bath. The Tecma is both a macerator and vacumn toilet and is used when the toilet cannot located directly over the black tank. Mine has worked flawlessy until this year during our last camping trip and it stopped working, flushings got real slow and we stopped using it. I have it in the shop right now and they have determined that the mascerator/vacumn pump has failed and have ordered a new one from Thetford. I got two manuals with my Tecma, one is the operators manual and the other is the installation manual. The installation manual has a diagram of all the internal parts.

Oldkarphart - thanks for the link but that is the one that Thetford sent me. I was able to find a parts list and my control panel only has one function on it which the list states was prior to 2006. Problem is the manual in the link gives directions on how to adjust water level using two buttons rather than one.

Buck62 - sounds like mine. I hadn't realized that the toilet was not over the black water tank until I had sewer back up in my rear vanity sink. Had always thought that the grey and black water systems were separate - not in my case. I had Fleetwood email me a set of plumbing layout diagrams and found my rear vanity sink is tied into the black water vent stack rather than over to the rear corner shower. Anyway - as I mention to Oldkarphart - my control unit appears to only have a single button on it for flusing. Any chance of you scanning the operators manual and emailing it to me?
Curious about the flushing process - when I push the button there is an initial flush of the bowl - than a loooonng pause (maybe 10-15 seconds at least) and then another flushing sound. Does yours have the same kind of cycle? Does the macerator make any kind of noise that indicates it is working? I would like to adjust down my water level in the bowl. After my incident of filling the black water, I started monitoring the fill rate and estimate with the current water level that I have approximately 20 flushes. Course when we are not hooked up we can practice the conservation process of "if it's yellow - let it mellow, if it's brown - flush it down".

Grandpavan, send me your email address and I'll send you what I have for the one-button toilet.
Thanks

If you will look inside your vanity next to the toilet you will find a control box that allows you to change the water level fill after a flush. There will be a small knob to turn with a +and- shown. + raises the level and - lowers it.

Grandpavan,
Glad you got the manuals, miine are in my motorhome at the service center getting a new Tecma pump put on. If working properly, the Tecma should first begin filling with water for the flush, then after a short pause you will hear a vacumn or "sucking" sound as the solids are flushed through and mascerated, then a pause and the bowl is refilled. All I can hear is the vacumn or "sucking" sound but, the pump is a mascerator/vacumn pump. When mine stop working I got the fill cycle for the initial then it would flush slowly without the vacumn sound and finally it totally stopped flushing. Luckily, we had stopped using it and was just trying to flush plain water through until it quit totally. I have the one button sytem and there is a specification for the water level, I think it is 2" about the outlet. I have never adjusted my water level. The tecma does use more water than a foot operated one but since I always have full hookups It doesn't bother me. But, I can tell the black tank can go a few days longer without dumping when we stopped using the Tecma.
