The elusive fuse - 2015 Southwind passenger seat footrest.

Hi all,
It appears we blew the fuse to the passenger seat footrest. We have looked EVERYWHERE and can not find it. Looked in the main fuse panel under the steering wheel and in the BCC box under the hood. I emailed Fleetwood and they told me it was a 25 amp in the BCC box. There is one 25 amp fuse in that box and we confirmed it's s good. We disconnected the clip under the seat that connects the footrest wiring. No power in the line coming in from under the floor. So ok, gotta be the fuse. Traced the line to the underside and see it dropping behind the tire. Tried to trace it but it merges with other wires in a wrap and then can't see it anymore.

WHERE CAN THIS FUSE BE???

We really don't want to take a day off to go to the dealer for such a small fix, but if we can't figure this out that's what we're going to have to do.

Can anyone help us? Thank you.

Here's a photo of my BCC on a 35E Bounder. It shows that 25 amp fuse. I would recheck the fuse as some test out good even when they're not.

Thanks for the diagram . Ok, we'll try replacing the fuse and see what happens.

My footrest stopped too. Finally found a cable tie too tight under the seat. Shorting wires.

NapaBeth Did you ever find the fuse? I seem to run into the same problem from time to time. On my 2011 SW it is in the fuse box in the compartment on top of the LP tank. It is a circuit breaker type of fuse, just push the button on the top of the fuse to reset.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. We have not had a chance to try all these suggestions yet, but I'm dying to see if one of these fixes the problem.

Continuing to look! My electric step mechanism also has a hidden fuse somewhere. Drat!

Mine has stopped as well. As a previous poster stated, it is a resettable breaker in the box over the propane tank. It can be difficult to find. I had to reattach the wire connectors to the switch under the seat as well the first time it happened.

Who thinks of these things?

I will dig around the propane tank tomorrow. Mine is the LH side just rear of the driver. One has to wonder who would think this is a good idea and why? Someone made a purposeful decision to put things like this is odd places and I am guessing there must be some reason for it. The people who design these coaches are not stupid people, I have met some of them. I am not being the least bit sarcastic when I wonder why?

Oh...I assumed ours would be the same because same year. My chassis fuse box is passenger side, above propane tank.

At any rate, it is in the chassis fuse box, little tiny resettable breaker, push the little tab back in. Drove me nuts the first time trying to find it. I had one for driver seat, one for passenger right next to each other, I think far upper right side of box.

Found it

On my Expedition there is a control box in the compartment that houses my auxiliary (house) batteries. It houses my inverter and a large box called a Battery Control Center. The box says "fuses inside". I had seen it before and just assumed it meant fuses for the battery charger or some such thing.

At any rate opened it up and there are fuses for most everything you won't find inside the coach such as seats, steps, mirrors etc. As mentioned here there are two 25 amp re-settable circuit breakers that did the trick.

Fleetwood told me where to look. Good service

Success. FINALLY!!! We took everyone's advice and went into the BCC. We checked the fuse, we replaced the fuse, we checked the cable tie to see if it was too tight. Nothing worked.

So ....... This morning we are at the beach and the outside stereo is not getting reception, like the antenna is not connected. We open the compartment under the outside TV/stereo and low and behold we found the BCC. What we had thought was the BCC wasn't. We were looking under the hood in the fuse box there. So there's fuse box #1 under he hood, fuse box #2 under the steering wheel and fuse box #3 (the BCC) in the inverter compartment. We used the schematic electrical drawing (thank you) and found the fuse. It's a resettable fuse, like a breaker. Reset it and there you go, we're back in business.

Now what the fuses are for under the hood are a mystery. There are gigantic fuses and mini fuses in there. Must be for the engine.

As for the stereo, went under the kitchen sink to access the back side of the outside TV/stereo, and found the antenna in a big ball. Loosened it up and got reception.

What a successful day it's been. I'm soooooooo happy to have my footrest operational again. 😊 And thanks again to all that offered advice.
