The OEM little extra things
It took me right at three years to find out I had lights in the bedoom closet that were supposed to light when the doors were opened.
Two years to know that I had to switch on the utility light switch on the dash to turn on the storage bay light for the water hook up and tank drain vales. The same switch operates the outside light above the bay towards the roof line. Found that out the hard way after tracing wire from the bay to the front of the bus

O.K. I'll bite! Why did it take so long to find these things? Were the bulbs missing? The switches bad?

No bulbs in the closet when I bought it and no mention of them in any manual.
I really never used the bay lights, when I was replacing bad bulbs in them for routine aintenance I had no power to the water bay which is what got me into checking the wiring. I still have never had a use to use the upper drivers side exterior light. The same utility light switch turns the engine bay light on a well.

We can tell when we've left the utility light on in the bay by looking at that outside light on the driver's side. It took us a while to figure that one out, too.
We didn't know we had electrical outlets on each side of the bed until I was crawling around on the floor, looking for something else. That was after about a year of owning the Bounder.

Had a voltage vampire I chased without success for almost two years. Figured it was just " normal" phantom drain. Had the rig backed into a barn for over a year. First time I left it parked nose in and after dark I realize my radiator looks like a lit window. Light on for god knows how long. Took a couple seconds to find the switch. Cut my " phantom drain " by 70%. Still learning.

2 years until I found out the CB antenna connector wire was laying in a channel under the lip of the dash....& only because some other member asked right here on iRV2.
Not quite as long on the engine bay/scare light though...about a year. Couldn't figure out where a faint glowing light was coming from up under the steering column that would be on sometimes & other times not. Eventually made the connection between the scare light being on & the engine bay light.
When in doubt, ask here....someone will know.

Yeah, but I wouldn't call it that. It's a combo antenna that does the radio & a CB - it's pretty worthless though. If you want to have a CB, install a REAL CB antenna purchased from a truck accessories shop.

Then mount it like the original owner of mine did drill all the holes through the body walls including the bigger hole for the cable then let the cable hang and lay on the floor going to the CB

Yikes! Some fine craftsmanship by the PO. Were you able to clean up the install. Maybe off topic but I would like to install a new CB in my coach? Suggestions?

Getting rid of it is on one of my lists, I may reinstall one but I don't foresee using one so I still have to make my mind up. At present the indicator lights light up but extremely low to non existant reception.
I don't have any suggestions but I also don't see where it would be that hard to do.

I remember my wife once saying that the lamp on my side of the closet must have had a bad bulb because only one was lit... (The lamp on her side of the closet had 2 lamps)
Well the factory only installed the one, (On her side) and they put in a dual.. I put in the other and not needing all that much light went with a single.
