Question Think of Putting Air Ride on 2000 Bounder 34D

Hi,
I am looking for information on installing Air-Ride on my 2000 Fleetwood Bounder Model 34D. I know, some will say; “Are you crazy why put that on that coach”. Well to tell the truth, I just love what we have and besides, it may be better than spending a larger amount of money to buy a new coach.

My question is this, does anyone out there have any experience in having done this? And can you possibly answer a few questions for me.

1. What bags were used?
2. Did you do-it-yourself? or Did you have it done?
3. Are you happy with the results and are you truly getting a better ride?
4. Assuming you used a kit, could you give me the name of the kit.
5. Can you provide me the cost associated in getting this done?
6. If you had it done by a place can you recommend the place?

Many thanks in advance to everyone for helping me with this, and I hope that you all are staying safe.

I'm assuming your 2000 34D is on a gas chassis? Ford F53 or Workhorse P30 chassis (the Ford was standard, WH optional on the 34D)?

I thought I saw on either this forum or the Winnebago forum where someone had installed an air-ride system from these guys onto an F53. Might be a good place to start looking. https://kelderman.com/shop/air-suspension

If indeed you're on a Ford chassis you may be able to install this kit.

Sorry I should have mentioned that... Yes I am on a Ford Gas Chassis. I'll make sure and update my post to define that.

I installed one (Airlift 5000) on my Chevy / Workhorse P32 chassis coach a couple of years ago, overall I am happy with the improvement, my setup has in cab single channel compressor control so I can adjust the rear airbags to match road / driving conditions.

Talking Air Ride ON 2000 Bounder

I had the Kelderman Air Suspension put on my 2000 Bounder and will let you know it dampens the bumps in the road uck.but will not eliminate the slamming caused by expansion joints on the road. It really does help. I suppose if you added a ping tank and auto-leveling valves that might improve the performance. I have the manual fill bags. I do not have the rear- bag set-up. Please, do not think this system will make your Bounder ride like a factory air-ride system. Good Luck!
