Tire size

I have a 2004 fleetwood excursion 40’ and am needing to get new tires. I would like to go a size bigger but not sure if a bigger size will fit. Does anyone have any info on how I can go if bigger at all?

Why bigger? What do you expect to achieve? Once a tire is of adequate size, there is rarely any benefit to making it larger.

You need to understand a lot about tire sizing and the existing wheel well clearances on your coach. Stuff like rolling circumference, dual spacing, section width, etc. Many opportunities to go wrong and very little chance of improvement.

I was thinking a bigger, taller tire would give a better ride.

You don't have room to go bigger enough to noticeably improve the ride. If you modify the fenders and lift the suspension a little then you would have some room for larger tires, but if the ride improves any, it will be very little . . . and in the meantime you will have increased your overall height, center of gravity, step height, and hitch height . . . and added some extra stress to the driveline and brakes.

Not worth it in my opinion.

Very little chance of that, even if there was sufficient room to make a substantial difference.

Thanks for the info, I think I’ll just stay with the same size!
