Toilet water leak and max water pressure?

I decided that I needed to hook up city water to the rig and test it out and I found 2 leaks.
The water valve on the toilet leaks when flushing

And a small drip somewhere on the outside water control, around the outside shower area but behind the panel.

Neither seem to leak with the pump running, only on city water.

The toilet also doesn't hold water so I guess it will need new seals.

I have a water pressure regulator but what is the max pressure that should be going into the coach?

Typically regulator should be set to 50-55 psi (static---no flow)

Did you get freezing temps thos winter?

Did you 'winterize'?

Toilet water supply valve is a common item that gets missed....water gets trapped inside assembly and then cracks it when it freezes
Usually best to remove and drain it OR pump anti-freeze thru valve into toilet bowl

Toilet bowl seal may just need a thorough cleaning and some lubrication (I use olive oil)

Other leak...could be cracked fitting. YOU will need to investigate further

Toilet seals -- I'm glad you asked. My rig sat for a long time, and the toilet seal would not hold water. Thetford makes a toilet seal conditioner which:
Extends toilet life
Helps prevent sticking
Silicone based formula is safe on toilets and holding tank seals
RV/Marine compatible
Petroleum free lubricant extends toilet seal life
Helps prevent sticking and promotes smooth toilet operation
Penetrates seal to lubricate and condition entire seal

https://www.amazon.com/Thetford-Toil.../dp/B002NSU0ZW
  • Use throughout season and for winterization
  • Compatible with Thetford chemicals and RV/Marine antifreeze
Worked for me, maybe it'll work for you. I'm thinking I needed this conditioner even if I had to replace my seal, but it fixed my seal and I was very happy. Now I put a few oz's in the toilet for winterization.

Of course, you have a water pressure regulator, like this really nice one from Valterra:

I live in North GA and we got weeks of below 32 degree weather. I bought the coach in January from Camping World. I know I know but thats' a different thread.

It was suppose to have been weatherized but I got 8 gallons of the pink stuff and ran it thru all the pipes. I didn't see it leak while on the pump, only when I hooked it to a hose.

I have a regulator: Renator M11-0660R Water Pressure Regulator Valve. Brass Lead-free Adjustable Water Pressure Reducer with Gauge.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Never had a regulator before so I was unsure what was max pressure for the coach.

I will have to get some of that seal and lube! THANKS for the replies!
