Transfer relay / House batteries

I have a 2013 Bounder 33C on a Ford chassie. I purchassed it last Jan. I did not service my house batteries and thy went dry. I will replace them Mon. They were reading 6v. I could not get shore power on the Bounder. I replaced the batteries with one 12v till Mon so I could start gen. Started fine AC power all good. I shut down gen . and shore power came on. All was good. I unpluged shore power then after a few minutes pluged in and could not get shore power on. I did the gen two more times it worked fine but could never get shore power on without running gen. first.
I read here that you need 12v power to get the transfer relay to switch to shore. Is it possible that the 6v on the house batteries did some dammage to the transfer relay? Transfer relay is a serge guard with two red diodes on the front. The diodes are lit when shore power is pluged in weather there is shore power on the coach or not.
Thanks in advance for any ideas
Phil

The transfer switch does not need 12 volt power.

It senses 120 volts from generator, delays 30 seconds, and transfers the power to the generator.

With generator off, the transfer switch falls back to shore power.

You may be getting low voltage from your shore supply ( house ).

Are you using a proper plug or a few adaptors and extension cord. Make sure the cord is a heavy duty type.

If you do a Google search , with your Surge Guard's model number you should be able to find a users manual that will have troubleshooting guide.

I am using the same cords as I always do. I have it wired to my garage. I read 120 on L1 and L2 also read to nutural and ground all reads good at the coach on my simpson volt meter. It reads good at my panel inside after I shut down gen and it goes onto shore power. just can't get shore power by pluging in. I was always able to do that with the Bounder and my last coach. Its got me stumped.
