I put a new speed odometer gear in my pace arrow put 2 new tires on and had them speed balanced. Took it for a test drive for the speed odometer and tires and fill up with fuel. my speed odometer work riding about 3 miles, but when I stop to get fuel and started back up to drive home speed odometer stop working. What do I check now? Betty

Yep.......if the drive gear isn't centered in hole, the driven gear will 'apple core' right away....

I think there's either two or three ways the driven gear adaptor can be indexed to the trans, depends on the driven gear tooth count...

Thumbs up

Hey Bob ok I don't know how to take the gear out so I have to wait until my brothering law can come take it out. But this time I am going to get under there with him and see what he does. The old gear was a dark green and the new gear was a light green I think a 42 tooth count. I was so happy when I 1st got in and drove it to the gas station and then I was sad and confussed because it didn't work driving it back home 3 miles. That's just wrong. Betty

Also I know this is not the thread to ask about oana 5500 generator where do I go for 1990 pace arrow..``

Betty....the adaptor is held in with 1 5/16" bolt...takes a 1/2" wrench.....it's located on the driver side of trans, in the tailhousing........and you could have a two piece speedo cable, if your unit has cruise control....if it does, check the gismo that the upper and lower cables is connected to....make sure the insides turn...
