TV answers for Fleetwood Bounder 34m
We have a 2014 Fleetwood Bounder 34m and are looking to upgrade the present TV system.
From previous forums, it is my understanding that 2014-2016 Bounders can only use the surround system, via a Blu-Ray disc player. I further understand that a sound bar attached to the TV will produce quality sound and volume.
Am I correct in my above assumptions?
If not, what needs to be done to connect the TV to the surround sound system?
Thanks

Hi Eddie,
I have a 2014 Fleetwood Excursion 33a.
If we have the same tv sound system, I have hooked up the surround sound to the TV. But only with my satellite. It’s a mess of wires, and a small work space. I was hoping someone else would respond. I’d take it to Best Buy. They can get it done. If you can get to the back of the TV it can be done. Let me know how it goes.

There is nothing special about an RV's TV system. You can hook up your speakers to any appropriate system. Personally, I replaced all my TVs with Vizio brand. Partly because they fit the space, and also because they produce a sufficiently good picture for a low cost. For our main TV I use a Marantz Slimline AV receiver to power the surround sound speakers because it is small and fits in the cabinet quite well. Works great.

We have a soundbar on our TV and the sound is quite good. If I wanted to annoy our neighbors I would install surround sound. But the soundbar does an excellent job. Chuck

That’s the main problem with the blue ray player that comes with the Bounder 33. There’s really no easy way to hook up the receiver because it doesn’t have an HDMI input. Your best bet is to replace the blue ray receiver with a normal receiver that has an HDMI input on the back. We went with a 5.1 Marantz. It’s a little tight fit in the cabinet. To get the HDMI signal to the new receiver I had to run a long HDMI cable from the living room TV, down thru the floor beside the fridge, through the basement and back up thru the slide and over to the hollow corner behind the sofa to the receiver. Now, all of the speakers work, including the subwoofer, and it sounds great. For us it was worth the trouble to have movie theater surround sound in the motor home.
