TV stops working

On my 1998 tradition the front TV will just stop playing going down the road. Like the power got shut off to it. It works fine with the generator running and sitting stationary but start going down the road it will cut off. The DVD player still getting power. The plug next to the couch also has power. The plug is tight in the receptacle. I am assuming this is not normal.

If the TV is viewable by the driver going down the road, by law ( I believe ) the TV must be off. The set is most likely plugged into a separate outlet which is not powered while the ignition is on. Some folks have bypassed the circuit.

Wildtoad is correct - it is a violation of NHTSA regulations for a TV set to be viewable by a driver when the vehicle is running. Distractions, they say...

There is an interlock relay on the forward TV power outlet, when the coach key switch is in the Run or Start position the relay opens and the TV will not get power.

Thanks for the replies!
I figured it was normal. I don't want to watch TV, my big rig still intimidates me! I was trying to keep my almost 4 year old son happy.

The interlock may be a little sticky because I remember driving down to the beach last year the TV stayed on for at least an hour and then just shut off.

Plug your TV into a different outlet temporarily to see if the problem disappears. If it does then you know there is a interlock.

I was thinking of running a small extension cord and plugging it into the receptacle by the couch behind the driver's seat. I know it stays powered with the genny running.
