Don’t get it to hot it will melt then you have a bigger mess.

Our 2008 Heritage is starting to get real ugly and is cracking, no mildew yet as this is a garage kept coach. I have just started today removing it after being quoted 3k or more by diamond shield to R and R . I am using rapid tac remover and bought 100 plastic razor blades and holders. It's hot here in Florida so I have unbolted the panel below windshield and taken it into my air conditioned work shop and will unbolt the lower also as it's on the gen slide. Gonna take some time but the rapid tac remover does remove the glue and the paint looks nice.I use the plastic razor blades to remove the film and it leaves the adhesive and then I spray it with the rapid tac and use a new razor blade and it removes it down to the paint.I do have a paint and bodyshop background. Go to utube and put in diamond shield removal and there is a lot of videos on removal of it. Look up Wayne from ugly shield. He has good how to videos.

I had my car ceramic coated, originally I was going to get PPF done on the car before ceramic then realized the car I purchased came from the factory with PPF. I was told by the shop I used for ceramic coating to remove the PPF around the 5 yr mark. Some state they have a 10yr+ warranty however waiting longer then 5 years can create issues from some PPF manufacturers.

Rapid remover from Amazon and a lot of patience. I tried everything else. Also get the plastic razor blades from Amazon. In my experience heating it up made it worse took the paint off. Same as paint dinner, alcohol etc. Peel very slowly. I was rushing at first and then my wife came out and took her time I was able to get large strips off with no problem

Diamond Shield removed mine. Sent tech to where I have my 2012 35k Bounder stored. Tech did a good job overall. A few tiny paint spots chipped but touched up with paint.

Use a cheap hand held steamer. I picked up one at walmart for steaming clothes. Lessons the chance of overheating the paint and taking paint off with the protectant film.

I tried everything, and I mean everything, along with a lot of $$$$ to get mine off. I tried all the recommendations and none of them worked.

But...what did work.... Xylene. Get it in the paint department of Lowes/Home Depot, etc. Put it in a spray bottle and spray it on. Get plastic razor blades from Amazon. They work much better than plastic chisels and you don't have to waste time sharpening them.

The Xylene does the best job of anything on the market to disolve the adhesive and it won't hurt the paint. But..... it will eat into plastic parts, so do a good job of taping off your headlights, turn signal lights, etc.
