Upgrade to Onan EFI generator

I have a 2005 Bounder with the stock Marquis Gold 5500 generator, it has major engine failures and needs to be replaced, don't ask I'm thinking of going with the Marquis Platinum 5500 EFI. Has anyone done this and how do you like it?

Thanks for your time.

I think it would be a great idea, to go with an EFI engine, if it can be afforded. It would eliminate a lot of engine starting problems, due to fuel evaporation in the carb.

Hi guys -- we have just had our Onan 5500 changed per Onan because of Vapor Locking it was a 2011 purchased in 2012 - less than 60 hrs on the gen set . On a trip pulled over to cool off started the gen -ran 3min off it went- started again - off it went with a code - 36 - says no fuel -- but we are full tank -- Fleetwood and Onan says change it .... EFI , drop fuel tank to add EFI return line . add elect fuel pump and filter ... and perhaps modify the exhaust to prevent future (vapor lock) ??? s- far it hasn't got hot to do it again

I hate resurrecting old posts but wondering what the return efi line outcome was.
