Hello,

I have a simple question (I think) regarding the Vac U Flush toilet in my 2018 Pace Arrow. I do understand it should be powered up when in use.

My Question is...

Power it up, use it, power it down?

or

Power it up when we leave with the motorhome for a week or two, leave it powered up for the entire trip and then power it down when we return home?

I had two in my boat, we left them powered up except in storage. A good system will hold vacuum for days at a time, using no power.

In storage, mine is off.

Leave storage, all power, water pump and flush are on.

I have two lavs with the switch in only one bath. I would not want to be in the wrong lav if I needed to flush.

My vacu-flush has at times, kicked on the vac pump uncommanded, usually during the night. Only then have I turned it off.

One caveat may be elevation. On mine when above 4,000 ft above sea level the air is thinner and the vacuum never satisfies the limit switch so the pump continues to run. When in Flagstaff last weekend (~6,800 ft) we would have to turn it on for a minute or so before using, then flush, then turn off. Once back to Phoenix area vacuum worked as designed.

Mine has been powered up for over 3 years with the one exception when I powered it off to change the duckbills last year.
If the system is maintained and working properly it should not cycle on when not in use so there is no harm leaving it powered on

If you have water left in the bowl you should create vacuum at any elevation unless the pump is malfunctioning.
